Itinerary
After you arrive at the airport and are transferred to Sigiriya the tour officially begins. Here you can start your journey by seeing the stunning Dambulla Cave Temple. Five caves with centuries-old artwork covering the walls and ceilings can be found at this UNESCO-listed site which dates back more than 2000 years. Proceed to your Sigiriya lodging for the night after touring this historical gem.
Explore the magnificent Sigiriya Rock by leaving your lodging after breakfast. One of Sri Lanka’s most popular tourist destinations is this rock fortress which is a good place to hike in the morning. On top of the hill where the monarch’s palace once stood are the famous large lion paws gate and its protective steps. See the significant Mathale Alu Vihara Temple on the way to Kandy a cultural treasure trove afterward. Enjoy a breathtaking cultural dance show when you arrive in Kandy which showcases the Udarata culture one of the city’s most famous historical sites.
