Itinerary
A visit to the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawala should be made when you get to Kandy. Visit the Botanical Garden after your cultural tour and don’t overlook the Temple of the Holy Tooth. Take in the serene ambience of the evening as your time in Kandy draws to a close.
Take the train from Kandy to Nanu Oya to witness the stunning views of Sri Lanka’s highlands. On your way to Nuwara Eliya stop by a local tea farm and factory to discover the process of creating tea. While enjoying a leisurely evening boat ride on Gregory Lake take in the breathtaking views of the mountains. Spend the evening in Nuwara Eliya/Little England.
Day 1
Take a train ride to Ella from Nanu Oya. Experience the breathtaking surroundings as you travel! When you get to Ella you might be greeted with broad views of rolling hills and green valleys. Spend some time in this quaint village that offers a peaceful getaway in the middle of nature and take in the serene atmosphere.
Day 2
Visit Little Adams Peak in the early morning for breathtaking views of Ella. See the well-known 9 Arch Bridge a breathtaking example of architecture located in the middle of a jungle. Revel in the peace and beauty of the surrounding countryside for one more evening when you return to Ella.
Travel to Yala from Ella and stop at the stunning Ravana Waterfall en route. Take a thrilling Jeep Safari ride in Yala National Park. Stay overnight in Yala to round out the day.
To be more precise the fascinating island of Yala is a great place to start and is great for spending several days. You can unwind and rest while others go to yoga or enjoy a meal of flavorful seafood.
Take a thrilling whale-watching trip in Mirissa to start the day off right. See the magnificent blue whales and dolphins then board a train to Bentota. Enjoy a leisurely boat ride at Bentotas Turtle Hatchery along the Madu River. Give yourself permission to unwind and take in the seaside city this evening.
